ANYO means shape. Shape of emotion. Emotional Sigbin. Binisaya folklore. Lore modernised. Looking at loife. Looking back at you. You looking at yourself.
ANYO is a collection of unique art pieces depicting loife. The backbone of the ANYO universe is four official parts, each consisting of 25 pieces. Around these are several side collections. The common denominator is that all of them explore a certain philosophical aspect of the ever mysterious, ever-fleeting concept that is loife. Everything from work, anxiety, love, nature, culture, obsession, technology, the sun, the moon and the STARS and forever so on.
A red thread throughout all collections, and the entire ANYO universe, is a cute but sometimes devilish, always more or less squarish figure – this is Sigbin. Sigbin is part of ancient Filipino folklore. A strange backward walking creature that will come out of your shadow to suck your loife. And blood. ANYO however offers a modernised look at Sigbin; a somewhat less-bloody-more-cutesy version.
While the Sigbin travels in and out of the different collections of ANYO, the Z-creature collection is completely, thoroughly and fullistically devoted to the Sigbin. Or shall we say… Zigbin.
ANYO is first and foremost collectible art. But if you look deeper, and dig further, patience might reward you with physical prints, poetry and maybe even more.
Welcome to the ANYO universe.
